ABOUT THE BOARD

Citizen consultation is the backbone of IMPLAN. Being aware of social representations is essential, since the citizenship vision constitutes the foundation in which the development strategies of the municipal planning system are supported.

With this aim, the board of directors consists of 14 representatives of civil society, coming from citizen consultation, and 5 members of Leon Municipality who constitute the Municipal Institute of Urban Planning commission. The board members are chosen on the basis of their professional and personal profile.

Seeking to ensure the continuity of the planning processes, the council advisors shall serve for three years, and may be appointed for a second period. At least fifty percent of the advisors shall hold their positions.

The board of directors goals are:

Review and update, whenever is needed, the vision and philosophy statements, as well as the strategic lines by using and promoting consultations forums.

Review and validate, whenever is needed, the technical design of the instruments used in the municipal strategic planning system.

Propose quarterly portfolios of strategic projects for investments, promoting for this aim, strategic planning commissions as they are required to prioritize, monitor and evaluate these projects.

Determine the agenda for the city’s agency Agencia Hábitat León.

Participate within COMPLADEM’s works as a technical consultant advisor in order to determine the priorities for municipal investments programs.

Propose to the technical body an annually operation and development program.
